Swimming's done for the year, but kids and pets keep wandering toward the water.

Arizona's pool barrier rules call for a self-closing, self-latching gate and openings too narrow for a small child to slip through. Give yours a quick test: open it, let go, and watch. Your dog keeps getting out, and the gap is almost always at the bottom or the gate.

Dog parks run on chain link for good reason. A tension wire along the base keeps the mesh tight to the ground, posts set in concrete stay straight, and the gate is built to close fully every time. We install the same setup for backyards, in galvanized or black vinyl-coated.

If it moves, it's a fall risk and likely a code problem. Arizona code calls for a handrail on stairs with four or more risers and a guardrail on surfaces 30 inches or higher. We've installed code-compliant rails in iron, steel, aluminum and cable for 40 years.
