In 2010, I stumbled upon this thing called drywall art. It piqued my curiosity, and I decided to invest some of my time and experiment with it. Little did I know that this would one day turn into a fun side hustle for me. I am flattered knowing that Beckie and Larry saw value in my artwork and purchased my very first piece from me thirteen years later. I urge anyone with an interest or passion in something to experiment with it and push what you believe to be your limits. As the famous TikToker says, "If you never f@ck around, you’ll never find out. So make sure you f@ck around once in a while.”

I finished this for my mom just a few days ago. It represents her family’s farm in Chihuahua. She and her 6 siblings grew up working the farm from a very young age. It was very normal for young kids to help on the farms. I also had the privilege of picking cotton and cutting weeds on this farm. Since the age of 7, my mom would send us after school so we could earn spending money for the fair or a new piece of clothing. When we were done picking cotton at sunset, we would load up the truck , then me, my bro and cousins would ride home on top of the cotton.

The adobe building was a storage room that my uncles used for crops, seed, tools. In the back we’re a few cottonwoods with the Sierra Madre mountains in the background. There was an irrigation ditch with a few fruit trees and the road leading home along the side of it.

We installed a sculpture for Luis in one of his units in the the duplex that he is building. He asked for something with color. I’m not super comfortable using color yet , but I did what I could. I had my first beer in over 4 years to celebrate!
