🌡 Wildlife removal can solve today's conflict. Prevention is about making tomorrow's conflict less likely.

Four smart places to start:

1. Look for obvious exterior access points around structures.
2. Pay attention to protected areas such as sheds, decks, rooflines, and utility spaces.
3. Watch for signs that rodents or other wildlife are repeatedly using the same part of the property.
4. Get a professional property assessment when the same problem keeps returning.

Every property is different, and wildlife does not follow a universal checklist. That is why prevention works best when it is based on what is actually happening around your home or business.

Animal Experts offers preventative maintenance and wildlife-control services designed to help Southern Arizona property owners reduce unwanted wildlife intrusion when appropriate.

If you are tired of introducing yourself to the same problem, let’s look at why it keeps coming back.

🐸 Are Sonoran Desert toads a concern for dogs?

Yes. They are one of the Southern Arizona animals dog owners should take seriously, which is why Animal Experts includes Sonoran Desert toad avoidance alongside rattlesnake avoidance training.

Dogs investigate the world with their noses and mouths. That curiosity is usually adorable. Around certain desert wildlife, it can become a problem quickly.

Our training is designed to help dogs recognize the sights, sounds, and smells associated with animals they should avoid and choose distance instead of investigation.

Even as Tucson moves out of peak monsoon season, this is a useful reminder for anyone whose dog spends time in yards, washes, trails, or other outdoor spaces around Southern Arizona.

We love curious dogs. We just want them curious from a safer distance. πŸ•πŸŒ΅

🦝 Wildlife does not care whether a property is residential, commercial, or professionally managed.

A bird in a warehouse, a snake near a tenant walkway, rodents around equipment, or another animal where customers and employees are moving can quickly become a property-management issue.

Animal Experts works with both residential and commercial properties throughout Southern Arizona. Our approach is the same: understand what animal is involved, resolve the conflict as safely and humanely as possible, and look at prevention when the property may have an ongoing access issue.

For property managers, HOAs, businesses, and facility teams, that means having a local wildlife resource you can call when the unexpected shows up.

No drama. No wildlife villain storyline. Just experienced help from people who have been doing this in Southern Arizona since 1991.

πŸ€ Pack rats are impressive little architects. Unfortunately, your vehicle wiring, landscaping, or the protected space beside your house may not appreciate the craftsmanship.

When pack rats establish themselves around a property, simply removing the animal may not address the conditions that made the location attractive in the first place.

That is why wildlife control can involve two separate conversations:

β€œHow do we resolve the current problem?”

and
β€œHow do we reduce the chances of it happening again?”

Animal Experts provides humane wildlife removal along with preventative services designed to help property owners reduce unwanted wildlife access when appropriate.

We would much rather help you deal with the cause than keep meeting the sequel. 😎

If you are seeing signs of pack rats around your Tucson property, call the Experts.

🐍 TWO RATTLESNAKES. ONE WILD ENCOUNTER! 😳

There's never a dull moment at Animal Experts!

In this video, our very own Colton encounters not one, but TWO rattlesnakes together during what appears to be mating activity. And judging by everyone's reactions, these snakes weren't exactly thrilled about being disturbed! πŸ˜…

🌡 A few fascinating rattlesnake facts:

🐍 Rattlesnake romance: In Southern Arizona, rattlesnake mating activity can occur during spring and late summer into fall, depending on the species and conditions.

🐍 Two snakes, one hiding spot: Rattlesnakes often seek sheltered areas beneath objects, rocks, and vegetation. Finding one doesn't necessarily mean it's alone!

🐍 They sense heat: Rattlesnakes are pit vipers, equipped with specialized heat-sensing organs that help them locate warm-blooded prey.

🐍 Not always a warning: Rattlesnakes don't always rattle before striking. Never assume a quiet snake is a safe snake.

πŸŽ₯ Watch as Colton handles this unexpected double encounter. The reactions alone are worth watching!

⚠️ Remember: If you encounter a rattlesnake on your property, keep your distance, bring pets and children indoors, and never attempt to capture or relocate it yourself.

At Animal Experts, we know Southern Arizona wildlife, and we're here to help you navigate encounters safely.

🌡 Monsoon may be winding down, but the places wildlife discovered during the rainy season do not disappear overnight.

Here are five areas worth checking around a Tucson property:

1. Gaps around rooflines, vents, and exterior openings
2. Sheds, decks, and other protected spaces
3. Landscaping where pack rat middens may be forming
4. Garages and utility areas with easy access points
5. Quiet corners around walls, equipment, and stored materials

The point is not to go poking around every dark space with a flashlight and a broom. πŸ˜…

It is to notice where wildlife may be finding shelter β€” and address access before an occasional visitor becomes a repeat customer.

Animal Experts provides wildlife removal, prevention, and property-assessment services throughout Tucson and Southern Arizona.

🐍 Not every snake with desert coloring is a rattlesnake.

In one of our recent videos, John Truman introduces a large gopher snake β€” a species that people sometimes mistake for a rattlesnake because of its coloration and defensive behavior.

Gopher snakes can actually be beneficial neighbors. They help control rodents and may even prey on other snakes when the opportunity arises.

That does not mean we recommend handling an unfamiliar snake yourself. If you are not absolutely sure what species you are looking at, give it space and let someone with wildlife experience make the identification.

Living in Southern Arizona means learning which animals share the desert with us. The more we understand them, the easier it becomes to respond with caution instead of panic.

Enjoy the video β€” and the next time you see a snake, remember: identification matters.

🐍 What should you do if you find a rattlesnake in your yard?

Start with distance.

Give the snake space, keep children and pets away, and do not try to grab, pin, sweep, or relocate it yourself. Rattlesnakes are part of life in the Sonoran Desert, but an animal in a high-traffic area can create a real safety concern.

At Animal Experts, we have been helping Southern Arizona residents safely and humanely resolve wildlife conflicts since 1991. When a snake ends up where people or pets may come into contact with it, we can help assess the situation and determine the appropriate next step.

The goal is not to turn wildlife into the enemy. It is to keep people safe while treating the animal with respect.

If Tucson's wild side gets a little too close for comfort, call the Experts.

Getting the animal out is one part of the job. Figuring out why it got in matters too.

Southern Arizona wildlife is very good at finding opportunities.

An opening near a roofline.
A damaged vent.
A gap around a structure.
A sheltered area that suddenly looks like a great place to stay.

Animal Experts doesn’t just work with wildlife after it enters a property. We also provide preventative maintenance designed to help reduce the chances of unwanted wildlife establishing residence in the first place.

That matters because solving the immediate problem without considering the access point can leave you having the exact same conversation again later.

We work with snakes, rodents, bats, squirrels, pigeons, skunks and other Southern Arizona wildlife, using humane capture and removal methods when intervention is needed.

Removal solves today. Prevention helps protect tomorrow.

What should you do if you suddenly find a wild animal on your property?

First: don’t assume you need to handle it yourself.

Different animals require different approaches, and location matters. A snake near the front door is a very different situation from a squirrel in the attic, a bat in the house, or signs that rodents have started nesting somewhere they shouldn’t.

When you call us, we’ll ask questions such as what kind of animal you believe it is, where it’s located or entering, whether damage has occurred, and whether you can safely send us a photo. That information helps us understand the situation and determine the appropriate next step.

At Animal Experts, we’ve spent decades working with Southern Arizona wildlife. Our goal is humane capture and removal while helping people understand the animals we share this desert with.

If wildlife has decided your home or business looks a little too inviting, give us a call.
