Helping kids start the school year warm, confident, and ready to thrive is one small way we can make a meaningful impact in our community.

This year, the LMC team came together to donate more than 70 brand-new coats for youth residents living at Community Partners for Affordable Housing properties, helping ensure students head back to school with an extra layer of comfort and support. A day of service, a lot of teamwork, and an opportunity to give back!

This past weekend, a team of LMC volunteers participated in the ReBuilding Center’s Day of Service, helping improve the home of a longtime community member through a variety of repair, maintenance, and cleanup projects. Working alongside other local volunteers, the crew transformed a lengthy punch list into tangible results that will support safe, comfortable living for years to come.

Last week, we celebrated more than a groundbreaking. We celebrated a community coming together.

The groundbreaking for the Nicole Sandoval reflected the very heart of what this project is about: honoring legacy, creating opportunity, and building a place where people belong. Named after Nicole Sandoval, a former Sabin CDC resident, board chair, artist, literacy advocate, and beloved children’s entertainer whose work has uplifted generations of Portland families, the future community will carry forward her spirit of creativity, joy, and connection.

From live music and inspiring speakers to neighborhood residents, community partners, children laughing and playing, and great food shared among friends, the celebration felt less like a construction milestone and more like a family gathering. It was a powerful reminder that affordable housing is about people first, and that the strongest communities are built through relationships, culture, and a shared vision for the future.

We’re proud to partner with Sabin CDC, Edlen & Company, Scott Edwards Architecture, and the entire project team on the construction of this transformative community in Northeast Portland.

Last week, our team joined Innovative Housing, Inc., project partners, and community members to celebrate the grand opening of Garden Park Estates in Southeast Portland.

This transformative redevelopment expanded and revitalized the existing property, creating 117 affordable homes through a thoughtful combination of renovation and new construction. Designed by LRS Architects, Inc., the community includes housing for families and individuals exiting homelessness, along with spaces that support connection, stability, and long-term success. Through its mix of affordable and supportive housing, Garden Park Estates helps expand access to quality homes while creating opportunities for residents to put down roots and thrive.

We're grateful to have partnered on a project that will serve Portland residents and families for years to come.

On Saturday, August 1st, we had the privilege of attending the grand reopening of WeShine PDX Parkrose Village, a community that provides safe, supportive housing for individuals transitioning out of homelessness.

LMC donated construction management services, project coordination, scheduling support, equipment, and staff time to help bring this unique project to life. From coordinating contractors and managing daily site activities to unloading and placing the shelter pods, our team was proud to support WeShine's mission every step of the way!

Congratulations to WeShine and everyone involved in making this project a reality!

Crews are making steady progress on foundations as this future affordable housing community begins to take shape. Developed by Community Partners for Affordable Housing - CPAH and designed by Carleton Hart Architecture PC, Meadowlark Place will provide 104 affordable homes for seniors, including supportive housing opportunities that help residents age in place and remain connected to the community. The project will also feature a Head Start early learning program on the ground floor, creating a unique multi-generational community resource in the heart of downtown Beaverton.
