With it being the end of September I want to remind everyone that Thanksgiving is quickly approaching. As many of you know each year I like to give back to the needy in our community. Thanksgiving day my family and I make Thanksgiving dinners and care packages that we hand out to the homeless. Thanks giving is a time to be grateful for the blessings we receive through the year and I just like to feed people so this is our way of sharing, caring and serving. This year I will be starting to collect the following items for the care packages. If you would like to join us in this small tradition that blesses many please feel free to leave any of these items with a note during any of your October cleanings through Thanksgiving day. Tooth brushes
Small Mouthwashes
Pads and or tampons
Deodorants men and women
Hotel sized shampoos and conditioners
Small lotions
Chap stick
Disposable razors men and women
Socks
Gloves
Hand warmers
We often get asked for blankets so this year I may look for some blankets to hand out as well. Last year we handed out over fifty meals to people in need in tulsa and sand springs. Each person receives a care package a box of hot food and a bottle of water prayer if wanted.
