Now is the time to start feeding and seeding your lawn! But have you noticed that throwing that on top hasn't really worked in the past? Chances are that it all just washed away. A key step to repairing a lawn is to aerate the soil to provide an even way of getting the seed and fertilizer to the roots. Aeration is recommended only once a year, whereas the fertilizing is recommended to apply four times a year. Different lawns need fertilizers that contain a certain nutrient level. Aeration is where holes are poked into the ground to allow water and nutrients to pe*****te deeper, and alleviate soil compaction for a more vigorous lawn. Grass roots actually grow in the winter, so now is the time to feed. If half your yard grows, and the other half doesn't, maybe your soil is just too hard/compact.
