Deer Park Lumber was honored to welcome Elmo Rinaldi, Region 3 Advocate with the U.S. Small Business Administration, to our facility.

As Region 3 Advocate, Mr. Rinaldi serves as a liaison between small businesses and federal policymakers throughout Pennsylvania and the broader Mid-Atlantic region. His role includes elevating concerns about regulatory impacts and gathering firsthand input from business owners such as Deer Park Lumber.

During his visit, we had the opportunity to discuss the significant challenges currently facing the hardwood and lumber industry, including market volatility, export pressures, regulatory burdens, and the financial realities impacting domestic manufacturing. Mr. Rinaldi demonstrated a sincere interest in understanding the macroeconomic pressures and the day-to-day operational impacts affecting our workforce and industry overall.

We greatly appreciate the time Mr. Rinaldi spent at our facility, engaging in thoughtful discussion, and listening carefully to the concerns of our leadership team. Advocacy efforts that begin with direct conversations like these are essential to ensuring the long-term viability of small and mid-sized manufacturers like Deer Park Lumber.

Always a thrill for Deer Park Lumber to be visited by the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce and their Leadership Wyoming Class of 2026. As in previous years we are grateful to be a particpating employer for the programs manufacturers day. During their visit we provided a review of Deer Park Lumber's history and current business enterprise, along with a tour of the allowed area's. Deer Park Lumber has always been an enthusiastic supporter of the Leadership Wyoming Program as demonstrted with this years class participant Drew DiMeolo, our Controller since May 2025. Congratulations to the 2026 Leadership Wyoming class!

Today marks a bittersweet moment for all of us at Deer Park Lumber. A sad day as we say goodbye to a colleague, mentor, and friend, but an exciting and well-deserved day for Jeff Nichols as he begins his retirement.

For the past 37 years, Jeff has faithfully served as our Director of Procurement in the Forestry Department. His dedication, leadership, and expertise in all aspects of Forestry Service has been instrumental in the growth and success of Deer Park Lumber. Jeff’s ability to build relationships, secure resources, and guide our procurement team has shaped not only the Forestry Department but Deer Park Lumber as a whole.

Under Jeff’s leadership, Deer Park Lumber has grown into the successful international company we are today. His endearing legacy is one of hard work, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

We will miss Jeff’s presence at Deer Park Lumber every day, but we couldn’t be happier for Jeff as he begins this exciting new chapter in life. Please join us in celebrating his remarkable career and wishing him nothing but the best in retirement!

Deer Park Lumber would like to extend our sincere thanks to Congressman Dan Meuser and State Representative Tina Pickett for taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with Deer Park Lumber employees and local representatives from the Hardwood Industry.

This meeting provided an opportunity to introduce Deer Park Lumber to the Congressman and engage in an open discussion about tariffs and their potential impact on our industry. We appreciate their interest, support, and commitment to understanding the challenges we face here at Deer Park Lumber and the hardwood industry in Pennsylvania.

Deer Park Lumber are proud supporters of ALIFT (Assisting Loggers Immediately Fund Trust). ALIFT recently held their annual fundraising event at Stonehedge Golf Course which was well attended raising $11,000 for this worthwhile organization. Independent loggers are critical to the success of the lumber industry and require are suppport and assistance if needed.
