This was a fun one. I got the call saying hey, I need my old window unit taken out and a new one installed. In my head. I’m sitting here thinking. Oh yeah OK 30 minutes at the most. LOL

WHOEVER INSTALLED THE OLD, ONE PUT ENOUGH SCREWS AND ANCHORS AND BOLTS IN IT TO WITHSTAND AN F5 TORNADO.  when I tried pulling the old one out I struggled with all my might. After some investigating, I found screws in every corner, crevice place possible almost as if they built the window around the window unit lol. And after burning up several blades  I was able to get the old one out and the new one installed. The new one had different features that didn’t match the measurement from the previous one. We decided to go with red Cedar Trim for that nice rustic look.

I always enjoy getting woodworking projects, growing up  working with my granddad that is all we did. What’s not pictured is the backside, I’m coming back tomorrow to give it a little more character, but as of right now, this window unit is fully installed, sealed and trim to match the house.

Customer: I plugged it in and heard popping 🔥⚡️

I checked the wiring, it was nice and tight.
I checked the cord being plugged into the device and it was in good condition and the amps it was running was less than the rated amount.

Since the device was burnt up (it literally welded the plug to the plug-in) I decided to pull it out only to find that the housing unit had a broken component and when something got plugged into it the hot wire touched a metal internal piece of the plug in.
This resulted in the plug catching on 🔥 and burning up.

Friends, please please please don’t play with electricity! This is the one job that you have to get it right 100% of the time. Cutting corners gets people killed. Neglecting to do inspections on all source of power can possible cause damage.

Let’s set up a date for an inspection. We can check all current carrying conductors and devices.
