CPSC.gov Warns Consumers to Immediately Stop Using Certain Chinese-Made Faucets Sold on Amazon.com Due to Dangerous Lead Exposure for Infants, Young Children and Pregnant Women:

A recent safety alert found dangerously high lead levels in certain imported faucets sold on Amazon. While these products can look promising with their modern designs and low price tags, they pose serious health risks and do not pass consumer product safety inspection.

If you are unsure of a faucet you've recently purchased, look for the NSF/ANSI Standard 61 certification stamp on the product itself. An even better option would be to go over options with your plumber.
