We got off to a fast start in 2026! We started many projects and we are truly blessed with all the great clients that we get to work with. Here are some pictures of what we have had going on with one of our big projects. We cleared an acre for a barn, which is the future site of a 16 acre pasture and a small 3 acre pond. We also built the barn pad and driveway going to it. On the same piece of property, we are clearing 10 acres and preparing to build a 5 acre lake. A stumper attachment had been added for our 32 ton excavator to complete a 20 acre stumping job we have coming up.

We have been so blessed in 2025 to work with so many amazing customers. From controlled burns, land clearing, site prep, and pond repairs, we have loved getting to help you bring a new life to your land. During the 2025 year, we have added new equipment to our fleet, including an off road dump truck, and a D6 Bulldozer. We are looking forward to some big projects in 2026, including pond building, major demolitions, and pasture restoration on former timber land. We haven’t posted much this year, since we’ve been busy with so many fun projects. We also have a lot of exciting stuff coming up for next year, and are looking forward to getting started on some big projects for next year! Here is a small job we did in Coosa county last month.

We had a great time and great view clearing an acre on Lake Mitchell. We had to dig out a hill side so the retaining walls could be put in for a house. Give us a call at (205)-454-7040 for any excavation, land clearing, and pond building needs!

Putting in fire breaks and doing some prescribed burning last week. If you are wanting to improve your land for wildlife management or just to help clean it up control burning is one of the cheapest ways to go about it, we put in fire breaks and we are certified and insured. We got the opportunity to do some more work for the TCSS Ag Farm, we worked on clearing out around the big pond and cleared off the pond dam to help prevent from leaking. We also mulched about an acre on the other side of the pond so the kids can access the pond bank better to fish. Its been a busy year and we still have a lot of big jobs to get started on but wanted to show some stuff that we have done this year, and some stuff that we now do. We purchased a drum mulcher for the skid steer so we can mulch bigger trees. We are now licensed and insured to do control burning and fire lanes. We also added another (bigger) excavator to the fleet to help keep up with the work flow coming in. We do it all here at Herndon Excavating and Land Clearing. You know what’s better than having one excavator? Having two of them. We have enough work load that we invested in another excavator to help keep up, this one is bigger than the 220 so we will be able to move more dirt and clear bigger trees.
