It wasn't about having the best gear. It was about having the most heart.
Looking back at these old photos, I’m reminded of a lesson that still drives Crawford Lawn today: Slow and steady wins the race. 🐢💨
When I started, I didn’t have a fleet of shiny trucks or the latest high-tech gear. I had one mower, a lot of determination, and a simple rule: Don’t spend a dime you don’t have to. While others were buying equipment they didn't need yet, I was focused on:
✅ Keeping overhead low so I could offer fair prices to my neighbors.
✅ Learning every skill by hand—from the perfect edge to the healthiest turf.
✅ One step at a time. I didn't try to be the biggest overnight; I just tried to be the best on that street.
Building a business brick-by-brick wasn't always the "fast" way, but it was the right way. It taught me the value of every single customer and the importance of a job well done.
Today, our equipment is better and our team is bigger, but that "Day One" discipline hasn't changed. We still watch the details, keep our costs honest, and never skip a step.
To everyone who has been part of this "one step at a time" journey—thank you! If you're looking for a team that values hard work and treats your property like an investment, we’re ready for you.
