One of today's projects. A big steam shower with operating transom using 3/8" clear tempered glass and Brushed Bronze finish hardware. This install turned out very clean and our contractor loved it.

Last week while we had the Smartlift from Great Lakes Lifting, we were able to get this demo job completed. These IG's were right at 10' wide and 6'6" tall, so right at 425 lbs each. We put together another time-lapse to let you see how the job got done.

Last week we had a special request from a good customer of ours. To hang a hollow metal steel door. Normally, not up our alley, but this one had a twist. 700+ pounds!! They had just installed the new hardwood floors and didn't want this door, much less a prybar to touch them. We used a Smartlift and got the job done smoothly and with no damage to the floors. Our customer was very pleased. Here is a time-lapse video we took of the install.

Last week we put the final details on the mirrors we had installed at Ultimate Fitness in Chandler. These turned out great with the black J-trim edges in the new building and also the full height mirrors with black J-trimmed top in the renovated posing room. Thanks again to Larry and Amber for trusting Independent Glass again for your glass and mirror needs. If you are looking for a new gym, definitely check them out.

This Cavoli series barn slider turned out nice! Its a single slide door with fixed sidelite. Our customer went with the 3/8 Satin glass with black hardware and a finger pull. We also installed a polished edge mirror over the vanity.

The trick to cleaning the Satin Etched glass is a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser if you have some or have been thinking of it for your project!

Never Forget!! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

A little glass history on the 25th anniversary of 9/11/01

1 window. Out of 40,000+.

This is “The Survivor Glass”—the only windowpane known to have survived the collapse of the World Trade Center.

The Origin: 82nd floor, South Tower. The Miracle: Survived a 1,000-foot fall still fixed in its facade.

The Discovery: Found completely intact on Church Street by Ground Zero contractors.

Today, it stands as a silent witness and a powerful symbol of endurance at the 9/11 Memorial Museum. In our industry, we talk a lot about the strength of glass—but this piece stands in a league of its own.
