The firm provides innovative design services for large and small corporations, law firms, associations, regional governments, major hotel chains, and the commercial real estate industry throughout the area. Since 1968, we have proudly served some of the D.C. Because we are a local firm, and because this, too, is our “hometown,” we are better able to understand the distinct needs of our clients in this area, and better serve them as a result. We’re excited to share that the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved the development of Building 18 at MetroWest!

Located less than a mile from the Vienna Metro station, Building 18 is another step forward in the long-planned vision for this transit-oriented community. We’re proud to be partnering with Peterson Companies on the project.

The development will bring 269 multifamily units to MetroWest, including 27 affordable units. As the community’s first rental apartments not restricted by age, the project will also include ground-floor retail, a 10,000 SF childcare center serving up to 150 children, a private playground, and a courtyard.

We had a great time at Housing Alexandria’s annual Fall Festival last week! It was a fun afternoon celebrating the Alexandria community while supporting Housing Alexandria’s mission to expand access to affordable housing and homeownership for low-income families.

We're excited to celebrate the groundbreaking of The Nest! In proud partnership with SCG Development, this all-affordable housing development will provide 94 homes for households earning no more than 30%, 40%, 50%, and 60% of the area median income.

Designed around walkability and providing quality homes for people who work and want to live in Loudoun County, The Nest is just a 5-minute walk from One Loudoun, with a variety of retail, restaurants, and other amenities nearby. Residents will also have access to a soccer field and Heron Overlook Nature Park, as well as a new Loudoun County Transit bus stop adjacent to the development for convenient access to transit.

We're thrilled to announce the groundbreaking of The Trail earlier this week! In partnership with BigT Properties LLC, the 3.5-acre mixed-use development will bring 69 residential units atop approximately 7,000 SF of commercial space to Leesburg, Virginia. Located just south of East Market Street and bordering the W&OD Trail, The Trail is designed around walkability, with approximately 55% open space for residents and the broader community to enjoy.

We’re excited to see this project take the next step toward becoming a vibrant new addition to Leesburg!

A lot can happen in 37 years. 😉

Our CREDA (formerly NAIOP) Awards history goes all the way back to 1989, when Fair Lakes Court North, developed in partnership with Hazel/Peterson Companies, was recognized as Best Office Building Between 75,000 and 150,000 SF. Since then, we’ve had the honor of being recognized 54 times for projects spanning office, residential, mixed-use, amenity spaces, and community-focused work.

Our most recent wins include Best Mixed-Use Building for Unity Homes at Ballston; Best Amenity Space for National Landing Center; and Design of Excellence for Community Enrichment for Capital Area Food Bank. We are doubly privileged to be currently working with CAFB on the renovation of their DC facility.

We’re looking forward to another great evening celebrating this year’s submissions, our friends and colleagues across the industry, and the work that continues to shape Northern Virginia!

We’re excited to share Indigo at McLean Station Phase A has officially been awarded EarthCraft Multi-Family Gold Certification!

A key part of the project’s sustainable approach was reusing the existing parking garage. By retaining the garage as part of the new 100% affordable residential development, the project avoided the need for new foundations, reducing the amount of concrete, materials, and resources.

Congratulations to the entire project team, including Development, James G. Big things are on the horizon for Dulles East!

We're excited to be working with The Tower Companies on the proposed redevelopment of Dulles East, a 29-acre site in Sterling, Virginia. The plans call for a mixed-use community with 778 single-family, multifamily, and affordable housing units, along with neighborhood parks, retail, and active recreation spaces.

Located just one mile from the Innovation Center Metro station, the project supports Loudoun County's vision for transit-oriented development while helping address the growing need for housing.
