Here is another garbage find turned awesome.
I found three of these wooden...thingies. I have no idea what they were used for, but they were obviously outdoors and were pretty warped. So I took one, and gave the other two to my neighbor (because who am I to hoarde my town's refuse). I ripped down some scrap pressure treated lumber, and created a frame using glue, screws and like 42 clamps. I did some edge routing and a significant amount of sanding to get it where I wanted. Since this table will be used outside, I tried my hand at wood burnishing. It's an ancient way to put a durable finish on wood. I bought a propane torch for $25, and it worked well and was fun. With burning wood, there are a lot ways to do it in terms of the degree of burn. If you don't like it, you can sand it a little, which can bring out the grain even more. Lastly, I threw these garbage picked legs on, and voila, I've got a unique versatile outdoor table. Thanks for checking it out!
