Taking out and replacing an original door in an 1800's house has its challenges. Making the door and entryway functional AND looking good is where I came in. Oh, and I wired in new switches and interior and exterior light fixtures to improve functionality. I wish I'd taken some before pics! Next time

This is a pre-primed Nickel Gap sold at your local Lavalleys. It looks sharp and adds some character to a space.

Using Frozen PVC glue, or not enough primer or glue can come back to bite you. Fittings should not EVER fall off, but these did.
Just one more example of what I repair.
