Giving Tuesday is one of those moments on the calendar that gently taps us on the shoulder and says: remember what matters. It began as a simple invitation to pause after the rush of Thanksgiving weekend and choose generosity instead—generosity in any form.. from a helping hand to a heartfelt gift. Over the years it’s grown into a worldwide tradition, but at its core it is still beautifully personal: people showing up for other people.
Here in the Recreational Group family, that spirit feels like home. We’re connected by more than work. We’re connected by the belief that what we do should make life better for others. Every day, in big ways and small, this team helps create places where joy can happen. And Giving Tuesday reminds us that the same care we bring to our work can also be shared far beyond it.
This year, we’re carrying that Giving Tuesday spirit straight into the holidays by partnering again with our local Whitfield County DFCS to sponsor children in foster care for Christmas. And what makes this so special isn’t just the program, it’s the people behind it. This year, more than 30 employees leaned in with open hearts and generous hands, making something truly beautiful possible. Together, we donated over 100 gifts. That is over 100 moments of wonder, comfort, and feeling remembered. Over 100 quiet reminders to kids that they matter, that they’re cared for, and that a whole community is rooting for them. The love that fueled last year’s giving is exactly what fueled this year's giving.
Giving Tuesday isn’t about perfection or doing the biggest thing. It’s about choosing kindness on purpose. It’s about turning compassion into action. And it’s about doing it together. When a whole group of people leans toward good, the ripple reaches farther than any of us can see.
So today, let’s celebrate that. Let’s celebrate you, the people who made previous years so meaningful, and the people who showed up to make this year even brighter for those children in our community.
