When I originally got this Dahlia it was not very big and even did not flower for awhile after this, but it has more than tripled in size and now blooms. I think the recent rains and the cooler weather has been very good for a lot of my plants as they have not looked better than they do now. It so nice to still be able to enjoy the summer flowering for much longer. I think the hot weather and not being able to spend as much time with my plants they got a little neglected. I've really taken to rescuing plants and bringing more life to them and I'll be sharing the progress of those plants here.

This is a new plant for me...
Streptocarpella (often sold as 'Concord Blue' or the False African Violet) is a continuous-blooming, trailing houseplant native to southern Africa. It is prized for its soft, fuzzy green leaves and wiry stems that carry dainty, pansy-like purple-blue flowers. It thrives in bright, indirect light and evenly moist, well-draining soil.
I've been keeping this one on a table on my front patio where it gets morning light from east but indirect shaded light the rest of yhe day.
I've got a thing for light airy plants that grow on long stems, it seems this year. I've been in kind of a wildflower and fairy garden style this year.

My Bachelors Button is in full bloom right now and also growing quickly that they were getting top heavy and laying down in the pot. I got creative and used some rolled up chicken wire around the edges of the pot to help hold them up. I have also been using plastic forks to help hold them up in the middle of the pot. These two efforts and trimming back faded blooms and pinching back a few plants will help keep them from falling over and make more side shoots and a bushy flower.
Very excited about all the colors they are very true to the photo on the packet and probably better.

My Cosmos that I grew from seed that I now have lining the side of my front patio. They are at least two to three feet tall now and grew so fast. I had to pinch back several of the plants to encourage more side growth and bushy plants. They grow great in full sun and need very little watering and can tolerate poor soils as well. I have been keeping Fencing around them as the rabbits have started to visit my yard.

These are my Lemonade Cosmos that I sowed about a month ago. Still waiting on blooms but I saw a couple of buds forming on a few of the plants. Looking forward to them blooming but I know I'll have flowers still blooming later in the season. I think they will be striking in these turquoise pots.

My Zinnias that I grew from seeds this year are now in full bloom. I came out to photograph this morning and found a Bumblebee tucked under the petals probably drunk on pollen and could not make his way home last night.

Crunching cart plants I am salvaging the before photos. Helichrysum Petiolare or Lemon Licorice with two Browalia Hybrid Endless Flirtation in a pot my sister gave me I think will be nice contrast and a cent to the lemon colors.
