Audiobook #26 of 2026: ⭐️⭐️

Ugh. This book is completely disjointed from the first two in the series. Same lead detective, but he's moved, his previous relationships severed, & the open-ended conclusion from book 2 was left hanging. So disappointed. Taking a break from this series for a bit.

Book #94 of 2026: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well, this book tries really hard to be a Shirley Jackson, but it fails. I had high hopes, enjoyed the eerily atmospheric quality, but the multiple narrators were dull and not as clearly defined as I would like. It's a ghost story? A haunting? A mental breakdown with terribly lacking intervention? I just don't know how to feel about this. Maybe that was the point.

Book #93 of 2026: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I stayed up to finish it. The last 100 pages were amazing! Great twists, the life of wannabe writers gone wrong, & murder all over. The good guy was a bit too good, too coincidental, but he did have his charms. Overall, quick read & entertaining.

Audiobook #25 of 2026: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book #2 & I am invested. This British crime series is intriguing, well-written, & fast-paced. Again, not for the faint of heart, but, this time, the investigation hunts a pe*****le ring & mostly succeeds leaving a hung ending just begging for the next part in the collection. On to book #3!

Book #92 of 2026: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a perfectly simple yet complex novel. It wraps up feelings of loss while the main characters are finding themselves, but, interestingly, pulls parental abuse into the mix as if it is normal, seeing how far one can be pushed away before they actually run. It is a melancholic story that pulled me in. ✌️❤️🌼

Book #91 of 2026: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Perfect book for spooky season! This story is a little Pet Sematary, a little mysticism, mixed with a little folklore. I really enjoyed the juxtaposition of the 1908 story intertwined with the present day story. If you're up for some ghostly, slightly terrifying fun, this book is it.
