After a great deal of deliberation and discussion with friends and family over the last year, I regretfully,
yet with a sigh of relief, have decided to call it quits for Cave Blades LLC. Over the seven years since
inception I have experienced both incredible successes as well as epic failures, I have witnessed gradual improvements from my first prison shank to what I would hope to be heirlooms, cherished through generations and I have made lifelong friends and gained an incredible wealth of knowledge.
However, with the ever-changing market as well as the massive influx and saturation of knifemakers and
leather workers I have found that success is no longer measured by talent, hard work and determination alone. It is, however almost exclusively judged by social status and entertainment value, or the ability to make cute videos and lip synch to the latest trending audio clip and I am certain that many of you are feeling the same pinch. However, this is not what my craft is about and I will not reduce myself to a dancing tik-tok clown to gain sales, followers and likes.
To all of those who helped and supported my journey, who purchased my goods, who answered my
questions as well as asked me questions, who took the fraction of a second to like, comment on or share
one of my creations, I appreciate you and I cannot thank you enough for helping me to get as far as I did.
I will continue to create and build custom knives and leather goods, but I cannot and will not continue to
do so through any social media outlets. Perhaps down the road l'Il consider a website, but for now the
plan is to rely solely on word-of-mouth and maybe some shows. As of right now, I plan on shutting down
social media November 1st with limited interaction until that time. If you have an order in with me
currently, don't worry.... You are the priority!
If you know me and are a friend in the literal sense and not the collective social media sense, then you
know how to reach me. And who knows, maybe l'Il pop up again sometime in the future, but until then I
will be with family, in the office, on the water, in the field or on the farm.
