High Desert Seed & Gardens

High Desert Seed & Gardens is committed to producing quality seed and food for the high desert regions of the rocky mountain West.

Seed that is biodiverse, seed with a 'sense of place,' suited to low input farming and variable climatic conditions. We are passionate about seed stewardship, agriculture, and the high desert region. We adamantly believe that seed should be held in the commons. We are against GMOS and the use of Utility patents on seed! We are working to promote biodiversity, as well as trial and develop varieties that are suited to farmers and gardeners in the Rocky Mountain west.

Seeds of sustenance.
In the depths of winter our diet is much more focused on pulses and grains. The “staple” food crops provide the majority of the calories of our diets. These crop are very resistance often having good drought tolerance.

We are excited to be adding more and more to our offering of staple crops every year. Also it seems you’re all excited to grow them! We are committed to getting often rare grains and pulses out there so you all can help adapt them to your varied conditions.

Grow em, eat em, save em!
