A lot of people see the progress. They don’t always see the challenges behind it. 🏗️

One of the biggest challenges we’ve had so far at Project Palm came down to a small piece of hardware.

The engineer required a specific ridge beam connector, but it wasn’t something our suppliers carried. Because of the roof design, standard brackets wouldn’t work, so we had to have custom ones fabricated for the project.

It took about two weeks to get them made, but that’s sometimes the reality of construction. Every project is different, and occasionally you run into details that require a custom solution.

A fresh start begins here.

We’re excited to introduce a new fire rebuild project in Altadena. This future home will feature 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2,014 sq ft of living space, and a 451 sq ft attached garage.

Demolition is underway, marking the first step toward helping this homeowner rebuild and move forward.

Project Nordhoff started as a single residential lot and turned into a nine-home small-lot subdivision.

We broke the property into nine separate lots and built nine new single-family homes from the ground up. Each home is around 2,200 sq. ft. with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, built for everyday living and long-term use.

A lot of coordination went into making this work, but it’s always rewarding seeing a full site turn into a neighborhood.

Project Palm update. 🏗️

Framing is done and windows are in, so the structure is really starting to feel like a home now.

Next up is MEP work. HVAC and plumbing teams are coming in first, followed by electrical rough-ins and everything we need before inspection.

This is one of those phases where things get busy on site, but it’s also where the house starts coming to life behind the walls.

🏡 Over the last 37 years, we’ve had the opportunity to work on more than 100 projects across Southern California.

From custom homes and multifamily developments to ADUs, major remodels, renovations, and second-story additions, every project has come with its own challenges, goals, and story.

Looking back at these projects is a reminder of how much can be built over time, not just structures, but relationships, experience, and trust.

This 1920s Santa Monica home had no real foundation and was sitting directly on sand.

Now, we’re rebuilding it with a brand-new foundation, adding a second story, and carefully preserving elements of the original structure along the way.

Project Hart is one of the more unique homes we’ve worked on because it combines historical preservation with modern construction. While parts of the original home are being restored, the structure itself is being completely upgraded to meet today’s standards.

Once complete, this home will feature over 2,100 sq ft of living space, a second story, rooftop deck, and ocean views.

Projects like this require more than construction experience. They require understanding how to navigate older structures, complex rebuilds, and major additions while protecting the character of the original home.

Part 3 of the USC project series 🏡

This one was a mix of restoration and creativity. We worked on a historical home and also built a 1,000 sq. ft. ADU in the back that includes four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

What made this project interesting was how it all came together from something that used to be horse stables. We even had to bring back the stable-style doors on the exterior to keep that original character.

We also added a modern touch the homeowner wanted, including an underground filtration system so there were no visible water barrels outside.

It’s one of those projects where old meets new in a really intentional way.
