Attention parents, students & teachers, if you are looking for scholarship opportunities, we have some great options for you!

Professional Women in Building- Des Moines has scholarships to give out to local women who want to go into the construction industry! Deadline for applications is February 27th. If you know of anyone wanting to do HVAC, plumbing, design, skilled trades, etc - anything related to construction - we can help! We not only provide scholarships, but we also mentor and make connections for future employment.

Home Builders Association of Iowa scholarships are also available with over $20,000 awarded annually to those looking to go into the construction indstry. This application deadline is March 31st.

With the recent snow Iowa received we wanted to provide a reminder to check your furnace and water heater exhaust vents for snow and ice buildup, especially if they go out the side of your house. If the pipe is blocked, you’ll be leaving your home open to the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning. Clear any snow and ice away immediately. Make sure to have working carbon monoxide alarms on every level of your home and test them monthly. You will also want to make sure your dryer vent is cleared of snow and ice build up.

Just a reminder as the temperatures begin to change you will want to remove all hoses from your outside faucets. This will help to prevent the faucets from freezing and potentially breaking over the colder months!
