National Building & Restoration Corp. was the General Contractor for the Open Innovation Center on Griffiss International Airport Campus, a high-tech, high-end facility. The first phase included a 3-story, 60,000 sq. ft. renovation of the Center Core. Second, a 3 story, 3,400 sq. ft. entry addition with radius staircases, elevator, and curtain walls for a full 3 story view was added. Lastly, a 1 story, 10,000 sq. ft. building was built inside the west hangar for (2) large quantum computer labs, mechanical rooms and electrical rooms, server rooms, and support spaces for multiple private and public entities to use for growth and development in the cyber and quantum computing industries.

National Building & Restoration Corp. was awarded the contract by the MU of DKE for this Historic Fraternal Temple which is located on Colgate University’s campus in Hamilton, NY. For the West entry addition, the exterior will be built to today's codes and safety standards, but will look like it was built in the late 1800s. The exterior façade will be a Guillotine Split Pennsylvania Bluestone, with precast bands and brick arches to match the existing temple. The roof will have Yankee gutters and bronze downspouts and be completely coated in copper sheet metal and trims.

Michael Palmieri started with National Building & Restoration Corp. as a Project Engineer in May of 2017, and after graduating from Utica College with a BS in Construction Management, joined the company as a full time Project Manager in 2019. His duties include job site coordination of manpower and subcontractors, scheduling, estimating, preparation of subcontracts, change orders, proposals, and job site layout/planning. He prides himself on being hands-on, especially on the job site, organized, and always willing to learn all aspects of construction. When not at work, Michael enjoys woodworking/carpentry, snowmobiling, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Under the first part of the Utica Zoo’s “We Don’t Like it Either” campaign, National Building & Restoration Corp. was awarded the General Construction Project for the new Living Rainforest Gibbons Exhibit. This included a new viewing hut with Bamboo trim, stampcrete, and heated sitting rocks as well as new interior cages and support space for staff and animals. The structural steel columns sit on 36” wide x 12’ deep piers built into the side of the hill as you enter the zoo. We were proud to be part of this exciting improvement to the Utica Zoo and local community.
