A couple years ago, a project lead came through my phone stating the Szeszak family was looking for someone to perform a final grade on their brand new home build. We reached out and eventually completed the project for them and have been in contact/ building a relationship ever since. This past summer we installed an in-ground fiberglass pool for this family giving them something to enjoy with their kids. We received a gift from them this holiday season. A hand painted bulb with our logo on it. This bulb means so much to us and is a testiment showing how our clients turn to friends and even through business we build long lasting friendships. We are so grateful.

Merry Christmas from us. Enjoy!

Wrapped up a 60x60 barn pad in Mount Perry this week. The pad is leveled and ready for a 40x48 barn with lean-tos. Construction starts first week of December, but the customer can use the space now for parking and measurements.

Mount Perry has the kind of open land where barn and shop projects make sense. We handle the excavation and site prep work that gets your foundation right from the start.

Planning a build in Perry County? Let's talk about what it takes to get your site construction-ready.

Finished leveling a barn pad today.

Could've built it smaller and saved some time, but the extra 10 feet gives the construction crew room to actually work when they show up in December.

11/27/2025

Started out planning a 60x50 pad, but ended up going 60x60 instead.

Why? Because sometimes when you're out there looking at the space and talking through the build, you realize a little extra room makes everything easier.

The barn itself will be 40x48 with lean-tos coming off the back and left side, so that extra footage gives them room to work and maneuver during construction.

Plus, the customer can use it for parking and measurements while they wait for that first week of December build date.

That's what we mean when we talk about thinking ahead - it's not just about today, it's about making the next guy's job easier too.

This review from Valerie means a lot to us. When her plumber recommended Double B for excavation work to access their well line, we knew we had to live up to that trust.

What stands out to me most is that last line - they're already planning to hire us again. That's what it's all about. Not just getting the job done, but doing it in a way that makes people want to work with you again.

Showing up on time, being respectful of property, explaining what we're doing and why - these aren't extras. They're the basics that too many contractors skip. And when you get those basics right, everything else falls into place.

Thanks for trusting us with your property, Valerie. We'll be ready when you need us for that second project!

Starting a barn pad project in Mount Perry this morning.

Customer used to have their garden right where we're digging.

Now that soil's getting a new home on the property.

Quick breakdown on the stone choice: We're using 304s instead of our usual two-layer system because this barn is livestock-only.

No heavy trucks means we can skip the bigger base stones and still have a solid, long-lasting pad.

Every project gets built for how it'll actually be used!

Out in Columbus this week tackling a couple of grading issues that might seem small but can lead to big foundation problems if ignored.

First up was a sunken area where an AC unit used to sit - basically creating a bowl that collects water right next to the foundation. Then we had some concrete sections that had folded over time, sloping back toward the house instead of away from it. Both problems directing water exactly where it shouldn't go.

The fix is straightforward - remove the problem materials, regrade to work with the natural drainage on the property, and make sure everything slopes away from the foundation like it should.

Noticed water pooling near your foundation after it rains?

That's not just annoying - it's a warning sign.

Out in Columbus today fixing two common grading problems before they turn into expensive foundation repairs.

Small fixes now save big money later!

When concrete starts folding back toward your foundation, it's doing the opposite of what it should.

Water follows the slope, and if that slope points at your house, you're asking for trouble.

Small fixes like this save big headaches down the road!

Taking on a full utility upgrade at this beautiful farm property. Started with a basic drainage need, but once we got digging, we found an opportunity to make everything work better.

Running 400 feet of new drainage pipe and upgrading the electrical system to better serve the barn and chicken coops. Love these kinds of projects where we can improve multiple systems at once - making things work better for years to come. Good reminder that what's underground is just as important as what you can see above it!

Already looking forward to seeing this system working smoothly for the property owner. Because at Double B, we believe in solving problems, not just covering them up.

From one side of central Ohio to the other today.

Early meeting in Hilliard, then off to Brownsville to upgrade barn utilities.

Extra miles? Sure.

But taking care of our customers right is always worth the drive!
