***Course Announcement***

New York State 18-hour pistol permit class for Oneida and Herkimer County pistol permit applicants.

WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, 6/6/26 and 6/7/2026 8:00am-5:00pm

WHERE: The Clinton Fish and Game Club in-door range, 3067 Lumbard Rd Clinton, NY 13323.

COURSE INFORMATION: The course consists of 16 hours of classroom instruction and two hours of live-fire training. Classroom instruction will emphasize
firearm safety, storage, maintenance, New York State Penal Law, handgun nomenclature, shooting fundamentals, concealed carry considerations,
ammunition, and more. There will be a mandatory 50 question test. For the live fire portion, you will be using 9mm G***K handguns under one on one instruction with a New York State Division of Criminal Justice / Municipal Police Training Counsel
certified fi****ms instructor. All fi****ms, safety gear, holsters, and equipment willbe provided and you must pass a qualification course to be granted your completion certificate.

COST: The course total is $300. A $50 non-refundable deposit may be submitted

FUEL Fi****ms and Tactics is now Five Point Fi****ms and Tactics.

When we came up with the idea of providing quality training to civilians, we had to come up with a name for our business. Fuel is the name of one of the original founding member’s, Jason’s, narcotics canine. Jason’s career, as you can imagine, is very demanding and he needs all the spare time he has to focus on his career and family. Therefore, Jason made the decision to step away from the business for the time being.

FUEL isnt just a name.. and we couldn’t move forward using that name without Jason. Jay, we’ll miss you and wish you all the best. Our story will always have began with you and Fuel. Hope to have you back when you retire!

Five Point Fi****ms and tactics will still deliver the same highest quality training from experienced Law Enforcment and Military instructors. Stay tuned for class scheduling announcements!

WHERE: The classroom portion of the course will be held at the Town of Schuyler Office Building located at 2090 State Route 5, Utica, NY 13502.
The live fire portion will be held at the Mohawk Fish and Game Club; the location information will be provided upon successful completion of the classroom portion.

Sometimes people ask where we got the name “FUEL Fi****ms and Tactics” from.. well, here he is!

We are working on scheduling a class soon. Please follow for updates.

Herkimer’s forensics class recently welcomed Jason Ploss, who works as a narcotics investigator for the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

Ploss brought his K-9, named Fuel, to demonstrate their day-to-day work life. Fuel is 5 years old and works as a narcotics-sniffing dog.

The forensics class taught by science teacher Tekitha Posey was able to ask numerous questions regarding where Ploss and Fuel report for work, what a typical day looks like for them and what requirements are needed to become a narcotics investigator with a K-9 unit.

Students also were able to witness first-hand what Fuel is trained to do.

We have been recieveing a lot of inquiries regarding our next class. This time of year we are focused on teaching defensive tactics at a police academy as well as quite a bit of in service training for our departments. Stay tuned, we are working on scheduling a class soon.
