We tried yelling. We tried ads. So… we put a goat on a dumpster.
Now that it worked—stick with us for a minute. This is a longer post, but it’s an honest one…
We’ve held off saying this for a while… but we want to be real with you.
One of the biggest costs in what we do every single day is fuel—specifically diesel. As of this morning’s fill-up, diesel is nearly double what it was when we started weekly trash service almost two years ago.
And through all of that… we haven’t raised our prices.
A lot of people may not know this, but AM Dumpster didn’t start with weekly service. We started nearly 10 years ago with roll-off dumpsters as a side business. Over time, it grew. We built strong relationships, earned trust, and realized something simple—we’re really good at what we do, and we genuinely care about doing it right.
The reason we stepped into weekly trash service was because we live here too—in Medina County. When the last local haulers sold out to the big companies, we saw service go downhill fast. Customers were calling us asking if they could dump their household trash into our dumpsters because their provider just… wouldn’t show up.
At the same time, rates kept climbing. Quarter after quarter. And customers didn’t have many options.
We saw a need—and we knew we could do it better.
So we bought a garbage truck… and went all in.
Since then, we’ve grown faster than we ever expected. And that’s because of you. Every single customer, every referral, every share—it truly means everything to us.
We set out with a goal:
➡️ Provide better service
➡️ Keep pricing fair and affordable
➡️ Be a company people can actually rely on
And we’re proud to say—we’ve done that.
But something else has happened too…
We’ve watched the bigger companies start to change.
From not caring when customers left…
To suddenly price matching… offering deals… even cutting contracts nearly in half just to slow us down.
Whether you’re a customer of ours or not, that’s a win for Medina County. Competition should make everyone better—and we’re glad it is.
(But let’s be honest… we’d still love to have you with us 😉)
Now here’s where we need your help.
With fuel costs where they are, we’re at a crossroads:
We either continue growing our routes—or we’ll be forced to raise prices (or possibly both).
And if we can grow, we can keep prices lower for everyone.
Here’s how you can help us keep doing what we do:
Share this post or any of our posts
Recommend us to friends, family, and neighbors
Post in your local community or HOA groups
Leave us a Google review if you’ve had a great experience
If you’re part of an HOA, connect us—we offer even better pricing for communities
If you know a business or contractor that needs dumpsters, send them our way
The more customers we have in one area, the more efficient our routes become—and that directly keeps costs down.
We want to be upfront with you.
We will be closely watching the economy and fuel prices over the next few months, and we’ll reevaluate pricing before next quarter.
Raising rates is not something we take lightly—and it’s not something we want to do. We know our competitors either already have or will soon. That’s never been how we’ve operated, and we’ll continue to do everything we can to stay more affordable while providing better service.
At the end of the day—this is bigger than trash.
It’s about supporting a local, family-run business that cares about its customers, its employees, and its community.
Thank you for trusting us.
Thank you for supporting local.
And thank you for helping us keep raising the standard in Medina County.
