Here another one we did this past April. We tarped the roof after a strong wind ripped the dried shingles off this ranch in Valparaiso.

The front of the house gets ice and water shield on the bottom 9 feet from gutter edge because there’s 6 feet of soffit before the main wall of the house, which comes in at 7 to 9 feet. If there is an ice dam at the main wall of house, it will be covered past wall area.

On this house the homeowner chose Certainteed Hi Def Landmark shingles, which are $6.00 more a square than regular Landmarks, so a 30 square house would be $180.00 more…(3 bundles equal a “square”-10 x 10 feet-100 square feet)

Another April repair… This house on Park Street in Valpo has a wall that faces the southwest, where we get a lot of wind here in Indiana. Also, the southwest wall on houses is where all the ice and snow gathers in the winter. We installed new flashing and ice shield 3 feet from the wall, and up and under the siding. Also installed 2 new vents.

Just put a bid on this house across from Arboretum off 100 North. – Shingles are dried out, previous shingler had nail gun pressure set too high and blew nails through the shingles, shingles also show a lot of wear with granules missing…!!
Note the build up of Moss! Also needs wall reflashing with new step flashing and ice and water shield 18 inches along walls and under siding.

Spring’s been busy! Here’s a recent repair that had a weird trouble spot and design that required 60ml rubber glued down instead of shingles nail down in this area ..Rubber is used in trouble spots near chimneys and walls and any roof less than a 3/12 pitch .. like flat roofs..!!

60 x 110 foot rubber reroof for commercial client (during the hottest month of the century!)

This flat roof above a bathroom on an old Victorian was in bad shape, leaked badly and needed a new rubber roof. I tore off the old insulation which crumbled immediately, as these pics show! Cleaned and prepped roof to lay new fiberboard and glue 60 mil rubber.

Complete roof replacement in Valpo. Ice shield installed to 6 feet. Even steeper roof pitches should have 6 feet of ice and water shield above the gutter. Doesn’t hurt..!!

Been a busy year so far!! Catching up with posting some of our work since the start of the season. Here are some pics of installation we did of new Velux to replace old bubble skylights on a modular roof. More light and will last 20 years!
