Homeowner tip: take a slow walk around your stucco this month, before the weather turns. Hairline cracks are normal and easy to seal, but cracks that widen at a corner, run diagonally from a window, or feel soft and hollow when you tap them usually mean water has already found a way in — and that only gets worse once the rain starts. Patching in dry weather is faster, cheaper and holds better than doing it in December.
