Ever wonder what it takes to turn a single story home into a two story? This Camas, WA project is a great example. We added 1500 square feet, 3 bedrooms and 2 fully tiled bathrooms upstairs, plus 3 bump outs and a full remodel of the 2 downstairs bathrooms.

That is a lot of structural change for one house in under 12 weeks, and it took real time, planning, and coordination from the whole team to pull off. Our client has been staying in a hotel this entire time, so we cannot wait for her to finally walk back into a finished home.

We are taking this Hazel Dell project well beyond a standard cosmetic update by pushing out the bedroom wall to expand a cramped bathroom and add a walk-in closet. The original layout offered almost zero elbow room at the vanity and a shower you could barely turn around in, so transforming this space required a complete rethink of the footprint.

With the structural demo wrapped and protective containment fully established, we brought in the heavy machinery to excavate the yard and cut back the existing concrete patio. This structural site prep makes way for the new foundation pour that will support the home’s larger layout. Once complete, the expanded space will feature a proper double vanity, an enclosed toilet room, and a spacious walk-in shower.

Here is the finished product, fully opened up and designed for real life. We installed bright white slim shaker cabinets along the perimeter, a 4’x8’ natural wood island, and durable quartz countertops. The custom maple fluted hood vent, under-cabinet lighting, and modern matte tile backsplash give this space a clean, timeless balance.
