HD Forestry, LLC I provide a full range of forest management consultanting services to help meet landower objectives.

If you live OUTSIDE of Clark County and a landowner owning forestland ranging from a few acres to hundreds of thousands of acres and need help managing it, I can write a Forest Management Plan for you. You may want a Forest Management Plan for timber production or other forest products, recreation, aesthetics, fish & wildlife, or a combination of everything. I help the landowner by,

ng them come out with me in the field and answer all their questions.
· If I do not know the answer, I will be sure to find out.
· Provide a GIS database of his property.
· Inventory the property.
· Provide Stock and Stand tables.
· Write up a description of the Forest Management Unit (FMU) and recommendation of what you can do. · Total State land covers 42.5 million acres of which 22.1 million is forested!
· 64% ‘owned’ by government and 36% (8 million acres) is privately owned.

Public Works is honored to share that one of our very own employees, Hunter Decker, the county forester was recently awarded the Outstanding Clark County Employee award for 2024 by the Neighborhood Associations Council of Clark County. Scheduling conflicts meant the 2024 award was presented this March.

The council noted their appreciation for Hunter’s commitment to public safety and support for rural communities. “In every sense, Hunter represents the very best of public service: knowledgeable, responsive, community-minded, and deeply committed to the well-being of Clark County and its residents.”

When he accepted his award, Hunter said that he grew up in Clark County and was honored to serve the community. “I didn't think I would get a little emotional, but I just always wanted to give back to this county… And I'm going to just keep continuing helping the county the best I can…”

(1) The legislature hereby finds and declares that the forestland resources are among the most valuable of all resources in the state; that a viable forest products industry is of prime importance to the state's economy; that it is in the public interest for public and private commercial forestlands to be managed consistent with sound policies of natural resource protection; that coincident with maintenance of a viable forest products industry, it is important to afford protection to forest soils, fisheries, wildlife, water quantity and quality, air quality, recreation, and scenic beauty."
