Congratulations to for their well deserved NARI Remodeler of the Year Regional Award Win for their 1950 Laurelhurst Rambler interior transformation!
Dive in to the details below:
We reconfigured the kitchen, family room, dining room, and back hallway layout to make the space more open and functional. We added a large peninsula for additional work space and to seat this family of four. The wall with the window pane has a couple structural posts, so we took the opportunity to add a decorative element in the space between them and let a little more light through to the dining room. The design was inspired by Japanese shoji screens.
Originally a patio enclosed in 1965, this area was opened up to connect the family room and kitchen. We added cedar tongue-and-groove to the ceiling, new flooring, lighting, paint, skylights, and cabinetry. Removing the wall allows natural light from the large backyard windows to flow freely through the home. The spaces now blend effortlessly, creating a warm and welcoming environment for the young family.

Another stunning kitchen design has been sold and is scheduled to commence on September 1st. This project encompasses the installation of new hardwood flooring throughout the main living areas and bedrooms, as well as new tile in the kitchen, bathrooms, and utility room. A fresh coat of paint will be applied throughout the residence. The kitchen will feature DeWils Walnut custom-stained cabinets, new Cambria quartz countertops in two distinct colors, and a unique natural stone backsplash. The lighting and hardware will be upgraded to gold and honey bronze, respectively. The fireplace will undergo a dramatic transformation with the addition of polished tile. We eagerly anticipate showcasing this project upon its completion.

That blue isn't an accent. It's the whole kitchen - and we are OBSESSED!

Full-coverage color on cabinetry is a commitment, and it only works when the rest of the palette is just as intentional. Here, satin brass hardware warms the blue without competing with it. The full slab stone backsplash picks up those same cool tones with natural veining. And that hot-rolled steel range hood gives the room an anchor that looks and feels substantial.

One of my favorite details? The wire mesh inserts on the upper cabinets. They soften the wall of color, let you catch a glimpse of what's inside, and nod to a more traditional craft without feeling dated.

Bold choices work when every finish has a reason to be there.
