Concrete???
Yeah we still do it. Lol
This one was 160' of 5 wide' sidewalk and a 10' x 4' retaining wall extension. We pulled this off in 3 1/2 days in between rains and storms. Inside a chain link fence with just a small opening meant this had a lot of hand work.

It doesn't happen very often, taking on small projects versus big. But this could be the beginning of a change. 😊😊

This was a nice little 10' x 30' deck and 4' x 10' walkway that we finished in the last two and a half days. All screwed together with only nails at the spindles. All the framing material is 2x10's. This deck won't be going anywhere or have any bounce/sag to it in the foreseeable future. It's built to last.

I'm finding out I really, really enjoy these short 3 or 4 day work weeks. 🤣😂

I think ill do it again next week. 🤣😂

I just cannot be happier with how this project turned out !!!

1) New siding. Going from yellow to spring meadow green. Quite the difference and a fantastic choice. On a side note I've been doing this for almost 40 years and this is the first green siding that I have ever put on. 😄😄
2) New deck railing.
3) New garage walk door install that was never there before.
4) New lattice under deck.
6) New roof flashing to repair leaks.
7) New lights.

But to me number 8 is the star of the show.
Check out those stone and concrete columns !!!!
These are definitely on my list for my place whenever I get a chance to tackle it. They're pricy for sure but well worth it.
They are just gorgeous and vert stately !!!!

That's a wrap on my portion of this stunning Lester Building Systems, LLC 42' x 110' x 10' horse stable.
Was it a challenge with just basically one helper most days?
You bet it was. 😆
But check out how it looks. Especially that gorgeous T&G 2x8 stacked interior with the black powder coated hardware.
This is set up with 20 individual horse stalls all with sliding lockable doors.
I'm beyond impressed with how this entire project turned out.
The fair board made some fantastic choices on this project.
I still have a couple days up here next week reskining and repairing a side of an existing stable but I can't start that till Monday.

Just a little sneak peek on the inside...... those are all 2x8 tongue and groove boards, along with those gorgeous black powder coated bars and hardware.
I believe this is by far the most impressive interior of a Lester Building Systems, LLC barn I have ever done. But it's just not a barn it's a 20 horse stable.
If you've ever watched the Steve McQueen classic Tom Horn this makes you think of the jail cell that put him in.
Once this side is finished it's time to do the other side.

What started out as the worst Mondayest Monday ever..... ended up being a fine week for getting stuff done.
Dark blue siding finally started, with eve light installed on one side, plus the entire roof is on except for rakes !!!
I think you can definitely see the red, white, and blue patriotic theme taking shape.
Now for a break because of the weather that's coming in Monday and Election Day Tuesday. We will be back after all that is over to continue siding, soffit, fascia, and the sliding doors. Then it's interior time.

Remember to get out and exercise your constitutional right and vote !!!

What a nasty week for work. We definitely covered the seasons.
We had snow, ice, freezing temperatures, four or five inches of rain, fog, high wind, and to wrap it up a 75° day. 😅😆😆
But between all of that we were able to get all but one truss set and the only reason it's not set is because we have to sink four more posts. Which we had to build the roof system out and logistically we couldn't do it if the front wall posts were in the ground.
We will finish up the framing Monday weather permitting and hopefully get this big project under roof by the end of next week.
As you can see it's definitely a tight work area. I had to do A LOT of climbing. Lifts are like me....they don't like mud. 😆😆😆
