Here is the staining, finishing and instalation of the maple columns from our previous post: We matched a stain sample from the existing kitchen, which included a medium-dark brown custom stain and a black over glaze. The color match ensured that the columns integrated seamlessly into the space. This was a challenging and rewarding project, and we would welcome the opportunity to do more unique designs such as this one in the future.

Take a look inside one of our recent builds: Custom turned maple columns. Here is the transformation from raw stock to finished profile, right before the staining and finishing process.

We sourced the maple ourselves, hand-selecting each board. From dimensioning the lumber, glue-up, milling, and lastly the turning to final profile (Turning done by East Hills Cabinet), each step was done with care and deliberate attention to detail.

The challenges that come up aren't obstacles to work around, they ARE the work. Meeting them without cutting corners is what separates production work from custom work. It's the standard we hold ourselves to on every build.

Throwback to this serene master bedroom sweet. Custom built in cabinetry, flooring, and cable railing that we completed about 1 year ago in early 2025. All natural wood finishes including red oak flooring (finished by others). Cherry cabinetry with walnut counters, cherry posts with walnut railing, and walnut floating shelves. Bathroom cabinetry is pussywillow color matched by Turino conversion varnish.

Shout out to who did the beautiful behind the scenes work, mechanical rough-ins, all the framing, and dry wall. As well as the stunning tile work in the bathroom and all the architectural moldings. Was a pleasure working with Mike and his team, here's to many more jobs together!
