A homeowner reached out after a small addition on the back of their house began sagging and eventually partially collapsed due to severe water damage beneath the aging torch-down roof system. After a full inspection, it became clear that moisture had weakened the framing structure over time, causing sections of the roof and supporting walls to fail. To safely restore the addition, the damaged torch roof material was completely removed along with the deteriorated framing and rotted exterior components. The crew then rebuilt the structural frame from the ground up, installing new lumber and reinforcing the addition to ensure long-term stability and safety. Once the framing was completed, new exterior siding was installed to fully seal and refresh the outside of the structure. A brand-new torch-down roofing system was then applied, including proper underlayment and waterproof sealing to protect against future leaks and standing water. During the rebuild, damaged window screens around the addition were also replaced to restore ventilation and improve the finished appearance. By the end of the project, the addition was fully rebuilt, structurally sound, weatherproof, and looked significantly better than before the collapse.
