This past week, Frazier Signal Technologies installed the final mast arm, activated the new traffic signals, and removed the old signal hardware as part of the Bangor Broadway I-95 Northbound portion of the bridge project.

Another milestone accomplished in this journey! We’re proud of the progress and will keep you posted as we get closer to project completion.

This past week Frazier Signals wrapped up an important safety improvement project in Madison.

In April, Maine DOT asked our team at Frazier Signal Technologies to design and install a flashing beacon at the intersection of Ward Hill, Old County Rd, and Main St. This area had seen 16 crashes in the last three years, with 75% resulting in injuries, so improving safety was a top priority.

Here’s what we did:

• Installed flashing red lights on Ward Hill and Old County Rd to ensure drivers stop before entering Main St.

• Installed flashing yellow lights along Main St to alert 50 mph traffic to potential entering vehicles.

This past week, Frazier Signal Technologies responded to an emergency call from the Town of Rockport after a serious traffic signal incident.

A driver experienced a medical emergency, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole and several trees. The impact loosened the pole’s guy wire, allowing the utility poles to lean inward and lowering the span wire traffic signals to a height that created a hazard for passing vehicles.

Before repairs could be made, a large vehicle struck the lowered signals, breaking the lower span wire and damaging multiple signal heads.

Upon arrival, the Frazier Signal Technologies team secured and repaired the guy wire, restored proper tension to the upper span wire, and returned the traffic signals to their correct operating height. We then replaced the damaged signal heads, reattached the lower span wire, and recalibrated the camera detection system.

With all repairs completed and the intersection operating safely, we were able to return the signal to full service.

We appreciate the Town of Rockport for placing their trust in Frazier Signal Technologies during this emergency. We’re proud to provide responsive, reliable traffic signal support when communities need it most.

This past week, Frazier Signal Technologies laid the groundwork for two exciting upcoming projects in Veazie and Madison.

The Town of Veazie has contracted us to install two Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) along State Street, near the Veazie Congregational Church (1404 State Street) and Trade Winds/R.M. Flagg Restaurant Supply (1212 State Street). This week, our crew augered the foundations, poured concrete, and set the poles in preparation for next week’s installation.

In Madison, at the intersection of Main Street, Old County Road, and Ward Hill Road, we installed a new utility pole and electrical service, along with a support guy wire for the opposing pole. These improvements will support the installation of multiple flashing beacons designed to enhance safety for motorists and pedestrians traveling through the intersection.

We’re excited to welcome Master Electrician Sawyer Erickson to the Frazier Signal Technologies team!

Last month, Sawyer accepted an offer to join our crew, bringing valuable experience in both residential and commercial electrical work. His knowledge and skill set will be a great complement to our growing traffic signal team.

This week, Frazier Signal Technologies responded to an “intersection in flash” emergency call in the Town of Hermon.

Hermon Public Works Director reached out requesting assistance with a traffic signal issue. Coincidentally, it was also the morning of our daughter Abagail Frazier’s pre-K graduation. We greatly appreciate Nick’s patience in allowing us to attend the 9:00 AM ceremony before responding to the call.

Once on site, our team quickly diagnosed and corrected an MMU-to-controller synchronization issue, restoring normal signal operation. Special thanks to “Signals on the run” Richard Smith for his over the phone guidance.

We’re always glad to help keep Maine’s roadways operating safely and efficiently.

This past week, Frazier Signal Technologies ventured to the Town of Eliot, Maine, for a traffic signal equipment installation project.

As part of the work, our team installed three Tomar emergency vehicle preemption systems at three intersections along Route 236, helping to improve emergency response safety and efficiency throughout the corridor.

We were especially excited about this opportunity because it was our first project for the Town of Eliot. We appreciate the trust placed in our team and look forward to supporting the town’s transportation infrastructure in the future.

This past week, Frazier Signal Technologies built two mast arms for a project on Union Street in Bangor.

Whenever possible, we prefer to assemble these at our shop. Doing so allows us to lay out the signals and signage per plans while addressing any custom modifications that may be needed before installation. This limits our time spent over traffic which means less impact to drivers. It's a win-win!

We should be “flying” these later this week so be on the lookout for photo updates!

A few weeks ago, Frazier Signal Technologies was contacted by the Old Town Public Works Department to install a kiosk at Binnette Park.

This interactive kiosk is one of five being installed as part of an economic development initiative in the Greater Bangor area designed to help visitors discover local attractions.

Our team handled the full process—transporting the kiosk to the park and completing the electrical installation to get it operational.

Projects like this highlight our capability to support municipal roadside electrical needs.

We’re proud to have been part of this effort and appreciate the opportunity.

Frazier Signal Technologies had a productive week in Aroostook County, where several members of our crew spent multiple days completing a Maine Department of Transportation assignment installing Carmanah Speed Signs.

Our team covered a wide range of locations—including Danforth, Mars Hill, Limestone, St. Agatha, and Eagle Lake—successfully installing a total of 10 signs.

One thing we didn’t expect? Just how much snow is still holding on in northern Maine this time of year.

We also made a quick stop in Fort Kent for a lighthearted moment—snapping a photo outside a local jiu-jitsu gym and jokingly texting a former brown belt co-worker on how we were going to challenge the instructor!

All in all, it was a busy and rewarding week, and we’re looking forward to keeping the momentum going.
