I installed this cleanout at a house recently that was complete main drain stoppage. The customer had another quote to hydrojet the main drain to clear for over $2K. I was able to install a cleanout and clear the drain of roots for much less.
I ran a camera to locate the main sewer outside in the soil. Dug up the existing drain, installed the cleanout and ran a snake to clear the roots way out in the city street. After burying the cleanout, the customer now has an access to clear the drain again in the future.
Contact my company for a second opinion before having anyone clearing the drain with an expensive hydrojet. I use a camera with locator or modern technology to locate the sewer and then old school methods to clear the drain more permanently! Call Rex Plumbing & Rooter 805-302-0253

Roots under toilet base! This customer had a regularly clogged toilet. Another company gave an estimate to replace the main sewer for thousands. This job to correct this problem cost less than $400.00.
I augured the toilet bowl and pulled back roots, but still cleared the toilet bowl.
After pulling the toilet off the fl**ge, I found that roots had grown up from under the slab and into the toilet base.
This is rare, but have found it many times before.
I cut the roots from around the fl**ge, push crushed rock salt and push it down the void between the fl**ge with concrete slab. The salt kills the roots in the area and prevents the roots from growing back!

Installed another Takagi tankless outside of a house. Removed water heater in garage and also installed a laundry tub in its place.

This is a toilet laundry area that was transformed into an extra bathroom at back of house.
This is why toilets were called water closets, the first toilets would be placed inside a closet in the house.
This customer was really happy with this new second full bath inside this old 1928 raised floor house.

Removed water heater from garage in Ventura recently. The space was then used for a new water softener. Rerouted cold soft water to new tankless. Installed tankless on outside of house and rerouted all hot water from slab to above ground.
Customer now gets over 280gal. hot water per hour and much faster since bathrooms are within 10ft of tankless now. The old tank water heater in garage was 50ft away.
The customer also has a large family of seven people. Takagi TK-5 tankless to the rescue!

Water heater replacement that was long overdue! Out of sight and out of mind. Many home owners never check regularly on their water heaters in a outside closure. This water water was still working, but definitely needed attention immediately. It had been leaking for a long time. It was a complete rebuild from ground up, including new underground gas supply. I also pulled a replacement permit and passed an inspection from city inspector.

Customer had water coming from under the toilet bowl. She had put layers of caulk around base to stop it for years. This is what can happen when toilet wax rings leak!

Just finished installing this really cool hand hammered copper tub with brass claw feet outside in a patio area.
It has a self standing tub spout I’ve had to modify to work outside.
The drain from the tub leads to a flower bed and also has a hose bibb so she can feed her lower garden too. The hot/cold water comes from a tankless I installed last year about 10ft. away.

DANGER DO NOT USE!Catastrophic gas leak in a Air B&B recently. I found someone installed copper for gas supply to the rental unit behind another owners house. The copper gas piping was hidden in the footing of the rental. The Air B&B renter had just showed up and was sitting on the toilet when they smelled gas and became sick!
When I arrived I found that the copper gas piping leaked underground under the rental unit slab. The gas leak had come through the bare soil around the bath tub p-trap. It poured into the bathroom through the bath tub overflow!
There was no shut off coming into the rental unit. I found the copper piping coming out of the footing in a wall and transitioning to steel above ground.
Upon further inspection of both houses on the property I found more copper used for gas both above and below ground! Someone used soft copper piping from the meter to the front house. Copper gas supply was also used under the raised floor to all the gas fixtures in the front house. The copper gas supply then came out the back of the house hidden under a back door porch deck. It went to a valve and continued copper underground to the rental!
I found a DO NOT USE tag from Southern California Gas wrapped around the valve leading to underground!
The new owner of property had purchased it 3years ago for a vacation home with rental in the back. They were not aware of any of the copper piping. The home inspection report does not mention any copper supply even though it was completely visible at the property!
My contract now is to replace all the copper both above and below ground. If a renter had been smoking in the rental this all would have not ended very differently!!!
