Something different this week, refurbishing an old set of deck chairs with new curved backs and seats. The jig took a while to figure out, but it worked great!

Big ripping and glue ups going on this week, $1600 worth of walnut and hard maple ripped into 240 1.5" X 1.5" X 26" strips. Then glued up in sets of 40 to make big striped panels.
Next will be cutting those panels down to 3" strips and gluing them up to each other sideways, to make an endgrain block 3" X 1' X 5'. Then do that 5 more times so I have 6 of those blocks, then start joining those blocks to each other until it's one piece 3" X 5' X6'.
I spent the better part of 2 days prepping for these glue ups, nerve-wracking to say the least, but the first one went pretty well.

A sample of 3" thick walnut and maple end-grain butcher-block tabletop, before I get started on the 5 foot by 6 foot 300lb monster.
