🌧️ 30 Years of Erosion Fixed the Right Way

This project involved rebuilding a pond overflow spillway system that carries excess water from the pond and directs it into a nearby creek through a culvert 👇

Over time erosion allowed water to get underneath a 30+ year old steel culvert which eventually caused a 4 foot washout and compromised the spillway ❌

We fully excavated the failed area and removed the existing pipe. From there we rebuilt it the right way starting with a properly compacted subgrade and installing crushed concrete road base below and around the entire culvert. This creates a solid locked in foundation that helps prevent movement settling and future washouts 💪

We installed a larger 40 foot ADS culvert to improve flow capacity during heavy rainfall and ensure the overflow water is safely carried from the pond into the creek as designed.

Everything was backfilled and compacted in lifts then the entire spillway was regraded to restore proper drainage and long term stability 🚀

Built to handle heavy flow and prevent future erosion done the right way so it lasts!

First time using the power rake (harley rake). I see videos of them all the time and they look super cool but actually using it first hand was awesome! It has some pretty cool capabilities. Lethal tool for redoing driveways and final grading🏌️

Before you spend $10,000+ on new gravel… read this. 👀

This client’s parking lot was overgrown, uneven, and honestly looked like it needed all new rock. Their main goal was simple: make it look clean and professional again without spending a fortune hauling in tons of new gravel. 💰

Instead of recommending a complete replacement, we used a power rake attachment. It’s a high-speed drum with heavy teeth that tears through the surface and pulls buried gravel back up from the ground. 🔥

Over time, gravel parking lots and driveways start sinking into the soil, getting packed down, covered with weeds, and pushed off to the sides. Most people think the gravel is “gone” when really… it’s still there.

By power raking the entire lot, we:
✔️ Pulled buried gravel back to the surface
✔️ Removed weeds and grass growth
✔️ Re-leveled the parking lot
✔️ Cleaned up the edges
✔️ Restored the appearance without importing material

The result? 👇

A parking lot that looks almost brand new without the massive price tag of a full replacement. 🤝

Not every gravel lot can be saved this way, but you’d be surprised how many can.

The best advertising in this business isn’t billboards or ads… it’s quality work people can SEE. While repairing this pond spillway and rebuilding the berm in Mansfield, a neighbor drove by, saw the work we were doing, and asked us to redo his sand volleyball court too.

This pond spillway had a 30+ year old culvert that completely failed underneath, allowing water to wash out the entire area around the pipe. The original metal culvert had rusted out on the bottom over time, causing major erosion and a deep washout around the spillway system.

Our crew excavated the damaged area, removed the failing culvert, installed a larger ADS pipe, compacted crushed concrete around the new installation, and rebuilt the spillway to properly direct water flow moving forward.

This project had much more damage underneath than expected. Stay tuned for the full transformation and to see just how bad the washout became before repairs started.
