This was quite the project. We tore out the plastic edging, ripped out the overgrown shrubs, tore out the rotten wood window wells. The homeowner went with grey concrete edging with a charcoal stamp, grey retaining wall block for the window wells to match the concrete edge and we touched up the rock. To finish it off, this spring we will be adding a few smaller plants to tie everything together. The “after” pictures will be in the comments. Had trouble loading all of them.

Cleaning gutters is a must in the fall. Whether you do it as the homeowner or hire it out. As the snow melts during the day and freezes at night, it can lead to ice dams on your roof. This particular job, the gutters and down spouts were completely full of frozen leaves. As the snow melted and froze again, it made a huge ice dam and they had water leaking through their roof and had huge amounts of water damage inside the house. A little bit of gutter cleaning could potentially save you thousands in the long run.
