To the left is the water supply connection for a Miele dishwasher. The brass nut is standard female hose thread, same as a garden hose.
Someone had used a 3/4” IPS male X 3/8” COMPRESSION adaptor to install this dishwasher. Hose thread and 3/4” IPS thread are not the same.

A series of photographs showing the replacement of a tub/shower valve. You can put in a nice valve in place of the one you have without having to hire a tile man or opening up a wall somewhere.

The pump was working good but short cycling. This caused the breaker to trip everyday.
The solution was replacing the pressure tank.

On the right is a backwashing carbon filter with catalytic carbon media. On the left is a water softener. The brine tank is not in the picture.

On the left is a water heater element from a water heater that was used for about two weeks. Notice the coating of lime. The right hand element is new. Also the RH one is different in that it is what is called an Ultra Low Watt Density element. It just means that the heating surface area is high compared to wattage. This type of element lasts longer.

Before and after pictures. This was at yet another house that is piped in pex throughout with the exception of the main line entering the house. The main coming in was copper. It started leaking inside the block wall.
My solution was to use the old copper in tje wall as a sleeve for a new CPVC line. PVC outside

When houses are plumbed with CPVC water piping, there is a common method for installing an out side hose faucet. The first picture shows the nylon backing anchor used. Problem is that there is a weak point at the threads for attaching the faucet. This one was knocked off from getting bumped with a lawn mower. The second picture shows method used to make the repair

First picture shows a broken PVC toilet fl**ge. Second picture is after I temoved it. The fl**ge I took out was installed well. Problem is when floks over tighten the closet bolts. Breaks a PVC fl**ge ever time. Then you have a rocking toilet and a bad seal.

On the right hand side is the old valve. These valves are eventually going to cause you trouble. The valve on the left is the new one I just installed. The new one is glued to the CPVC. There are a couple of other types that don’t require glue but gluing them is tje best way.

Repaired a leak today on this. It was my work. I should have known better. Threading a male brass fitting into a female PVC fitting is often a recipe for problems. The PVC split. I fixed it by using a brass female adaptor over a PVC male adaptor. That way the PVC will not split.
