As our ROVB family continues to mourn the heartbreaking loss of Kyle, our thoughts remain with his wife, Carol, and their children during this incredibly difficult time.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our longtime team member and dear friend, Kyle.

Kyle was so much more than a coworker. After many years with Remodeling of Vero Beach, he had become an important part of our ROVB family. He was someone everyone knew and loved, a wonderful husband and father, and a friend to so many. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our hearts are with his wife, children, and entire family as they navigate this unimaginable loss. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Kyle's memory will forever be a part of our ROVB family. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. ❤️

WASHINGTON — The National Association of Home Builders reports that stepped-up immigration enforcement and jobsite raids are keeping legally authorized workers away from residential construction sites in some markets. NAHB members say the fear is delaying projects and raising costs as the nation faces a housing shortage of about 1.2 million units.

Immigrant workers make up more than one-quarter of the construction workforce, and government data show the industry is short roughly 300,000 workers. A June 2025 Home Builders Institute study found labor shortages add an average of two months to construction timelines, cut annual housing production by 19,000 homes and cost builders and consumers $10 billion a year.

NAHB filed an amicus brief in the Fifth Circuit on September 16, 2026, arguing for consistent due process, and has raised concerns directly with Department of Homeland Security and ICE officials. On Capitol Hill, the association is backing the DIGNITY Act (H.R. 4393) on work authorization and the CONSTRUCTS Act (H.R. 1055/S. 189) on trade education.

For builders in Florida and across the country, NAHB offers a guide called When ICE Comes Calling, plus employer fact sheets on site visits, raids and subcontractor compliance. All are available in English and Spanish.
