Sometimes a backyard just needs a little vision.

This humdrum backyard got a complete transformation with a new deck, a natural rock wall with landscaping, and a beautiful walkway connecting the living space to the backyard.

The result? A more inviting outdoor space that feels connected, functional and ready to enjoy.

A great outdoor space shouldn’t feel like a collection of separate pieces...your deck, patio, walkways, stairs, landscaping, and home should work together.

Thoughtful design creates a natural flow from one space to the next, making your backyard feel more connected, more functional, and much easier to enjoy.

The three biggest mistakes we see homeowners make when planning their outdoor space:

1. Not thinking about how they’ll actually use it.
2. Not planning for sun and rain.
3. Forgetting about lighting.

The best time to think about these things is before construction begins. That’s where thoughtful planning makes all the difference, and that's where DEKTEX shines. We've done this a time or two 😀 and will help you think through an outdoor space you will enjoy for years to come.

This backyard wasn’t being used, and it’s easy to see why. The existing deck was splintered, peeling, slick when wet, and no longer safe. The rest of the backyard felt disconnected and virtually unusable.

So we transformed it.

We added inviting walkways, places to sit and relax, shade, and privacy. Every inch was carefully planned and executed, and every material used was designed for low-maintenance longevity. The result - a total backyard transformation.

Ready to rethink YOUR outdoor space? Let’s talk.

Before you jump into the details of design of your deck or patio, think about how you actually want to use your space. The answers to a few simple questions can help shape every decision that follows, from layout and materials to the features you include.

When you start with your lifestyle instead of the look, you're far more likely to create an outdoor space you'll enjoy for years to come.

Your dream backyard doesn't have to happen all at once...

Maybe this year it's a custom deck. A year or two later, it's a patio or pergola. Down the road, you add an outdoor kitchen or fire pit.

The key is having a plan that allows each new addition to feel like it was always meant to be there.

At DEKTEX, we help homeowners think beyond today's project and create outdoor spaces that can evolve with their needs, lifestyle, and budget. Let us help you develop a long-term plan for one of your home's greatest asset - your outdoor space!
