Keyman is a family-owned business out of Verona. There are currently 11 licensed and certified technicians employed, as well as a certified Arborist. We strive to be the best, not the biggest. We see lawns like this every year once grub damage starts.

As grubs feed on grass roots underground, skunks, raccoons and birds begin tearing up the lawn looking for their meal.

We are currently scheduling grub control applications. Preventative grub control can help stop the problem before grubs hatch and settle into your lawn later this summer.

If your lawn has had grub damage before, now is the time to plan ahead.

Preventative grub control is most effective before grubs hatch and nest in your lawn later this summer. Once they start feeding on grass roots, lawns can quickly turn brown and attract skunks, raccoons, and birds digging for food.

We are scheduling grub control applications for early June.

When grubs feed on grass roots, lawns can weaken fast. Then, skunks, raccoons and birds tear into the turf looking for a meal.

The good news is that if you know this could be a problem for you, preventative grub control can help stop the problem before it starts.

We are scheduling grub control applications for June. If you’ve dealt with grub damage before, or want to avoid it entirely, now’s the time to reserve your spot.

Meet Mike. Mike joined Keyman Lawn, Tree & Pest in 2025 as the new owner.

One of his favorite services is top dressing because of the difference it can make in improving soil and helping lawns thrive.

Mike says one common challenge homeowners face in Wisconsin is trying to grow grass in shady areas where seed struggles to establish.

Outside of work, he enjoys pickleball, hiking and traveling with his family.

Quick lawn tip: Cut your grass longer.

If you see Mike out around Dane County, be sure to say hello!

Meet Christopher.

Christopher joined Keyman Lawn, Tree & Pest last spring and works as a lawn technician serving homeowners across Dane County.

He says one common lawn mistake homeowners make is forgetting that lawns are living organisms that respond differently depending on weather and conditions.

Christopher enjoys working independently and getting to know different areas around Dane County.

Outside of work, he enjoys long-distance biking and reading nonfiction, especially science and history.

Quick lawn tip: Avoid cutting your lawn too short.

If you see Christopher out on lawns this season, be sure to say hello.
