Capstone Highlight: Derek Morris. Derek is a senior and is the son of Cindy Burchfield and the late Chuck Morris. Derek started working at Village Contractors, owned and operated by Matt Barton and Ryan Vogel, in August of 2019. He has continued to work throughout this senior year and has worked over 1,600 hours. Some of Derek’s primary responsibilities and roles at Village Contractors include: assisting with new construction of homes and additions on existing homes, roofing, installing doors and windows, installing flooring, dry wall, clean-up and cabinets. Matt Barton, owner of Village Contractors, is quoted by saying, “Derek is reliable, dependable, easy to train, and has initiative. He is on time and consistent with his work. Derek plays a very vital role in our business, learns quickly, and we are excited that he is joining us full-time after graduation." Derek plans to join Village Contractors full-time after graduation in May.
