Storms will continue to be capable of producing damaging winds and maybe even an isolated tornado or two across northern Kentucky, southern Indiana, and southwestern Ohio over the next couple of hours.
The atmosphere is not extremely unstable right now, but there is still enough energy in place, along with very strong winds higher up in the atmosphere, to allow a few storms to organize and become strong.
The biggest concern will be damaging straight-line winds, but I cannot rule out a brief tornado with any stronger storm that develops.
The area in red will continue to have the potential for severe weather through the afternoon, so if you are in that zone, make sure you are staying weather aware and keeping a close eye on the radar.
This is not a situation where everyone will see severe weather, but the storms that do hold together could become intense quickly. Make sure you have a way to get warnings this afternoon.
I’ll continue to watch things closely and post updates as needed.
