Here’s some photos finally of a project last summer. I knew this was going to challenge me and it did, but these are the jobs I love. Keep the mind working.
After initially going to view it I came up with support ideas into the ground( which is an old quarry)and knew it was not going to be just an easy dig. When I went to start the job the water level was the highest they’d ever seen it they said , which was almost 6’ up from my initial visit. Time for plan B cause A was under water. Landing and steps went as planned with new holes which helped. For the main deck I ended up pouring a spread footer with 3 holes ( 1 each end , 1 middle) to act as anchos. If only that simple though lol. There was nothing below the footer to hold my concrete in place being I was in a quarry full of rocks I used them to build a retaining wall in front of it to hold it in place. It was about 4’tall 14’ wide when finished. I also should mention the only way to get materials to the build was roughly 80 yards from driveway to top of the stairs.
I loved every minute of this project regardless of numerous challenges and love how it turned out.

A new task to add onto the resume. Wishing I would’ve taken more before pics. Pulled front and back seating areas, live well, storage bin, and steering council to recarpet. The front and back were 3/4” plywood that was rotted so needed to make new ones first. Added plastic where the seats go instead of wood hopefully preventing rot again. About 80% of the middle got re riveted due to most missing. The remaining pieces needing carpet were all metal. Lots of glue and rivets. I’m ok making this the only one I ever do. Lol

This Door was heavily weathered. Homeowner was just going to trash it and buy a new , darker colored door. No problem I’ll replace it when you get one, I let him know. In the meantime I took the old one out, boarded up the hole went on my way with the old. My staining/finishing skills need work, had a free project to try here. He’s keeping the old one. 😊

Pulled all this rock off in order to pull the plastic pond out. It had a few cracks the owner wanted me to try n fix. Patched them up, reset the pond and restacked the rock in my own/new design. And yes it holds water now with no more leaking. 😊
