Throughout the day yesterday, crews encountered tree limbs on lines, broken poles, frayed wire, and damaged equipment. Each issue required different tools, different equipment, and sometimes a bit of detective work. At one location, Kallie met up with a crew who had to walk deep into a tree grove- safety gear on, chainsaw in hand, and insulated “shotgun” hotstick-until they found the limb causing the outage. That’s the kind of hands on work happening behind the scenes during storm restoration.
And speaking of behind the scenes-our Operations Manager, Tyler, was in the office around 3:30 a.m. to begin dispatching crews. He coordinated where crews needed to go, redirected them as outages were restored, and kept the entire operation moving safely and efficiently. Thank you, Tyler, for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to getting members back on as safely as possible.
Our office crew also played a key role- answering phone calls, monitoring outage software, and coordinating a bagged lunch to the crews in the field. Everyone has a role, and while some of that work isn’t always visible, it all matters. When we work together and keep safety at the center, we get the job done.
Thank you again for your patience, support, and understanding. We’re grateful to serve you. 💚
