It's not something we want to see, but a tropical system could impact the CSRA early next week between Monday and Tuesday. It's too soon to know what will happen, but I want to make sure everyone knows to stay updated on the forecast the next few days. We've issued a FIRST ALERT for Monday (9/29) and Tuesday (9/30) to make sure everyone is aware of potential impacts. The system that could impact us is currently Invest 94L - likely to become Imelda within the next 24 hours. It looks like Humberto will stay far enough away from Imelda to prevent a Fujiwhara effect. Instead, future Imelda will likely get picked up by a trough over the Southeast US. More updates coming up on News 12 26 Augusta this evening and Meteorologist Emily Acton WRDW will have a Facebook Live discussion later tonight around 8:30 PM.
