The TREE Project, day 2. Your veterans made great progress assembling their boxes. In 2 weeks, we will be finishing up this project and moving on to the next!

More veterans are signing up! Looks like this might be more successful than I thought! The best part is that we get to have fun while teaching other veterans about Timber Recovery Education and Economics.

Challenge!

Here are the facts according to the Hawaii Department of Forestry and Wildlife and the US Forestry Service.

The real facts are right there in black and white, Page 2. The State Forestry Budget 2025 is $53,865,282.00!
Let me repeat that! $53,865,282.00.

Taxpayers have been paying this for decades with no return on investment. DOFAW has spent over a Billion dollars in the last 20 years with $0 return on investment.

There are 1.4 million acres of forest under DOFAW's management. There are exactly 0 industrial sawmills in Hawaii! Where did all the money go?

Want answers contact State Forester, David G Smith, 808-587-0166 or email [email protected]

Questions?
Where are the drying kilns?
When are you going to do a forest inventory?
What is the state doing with all the test plots planted throughout the state?
When will we start restoring the forest faster than the invasive species grow?

Start with those 5 questions.
Will you be ignored?
Will you get a word salad?
Will you get an honest answer?

Let me know in the comments!

What is the real reason that the Department of Forestry and Wildlife doesn't want to complete a forest inventory? The cost? The personnel? Or the truth?

Will the public realize nearly 1/2 of the forest lands have been lost to invasive species. While the department spent a billion dollars sitting on their hands and collecting a check and pension?

We have the 11 the largest forest reserve in the country, and we have no industrial sawmills? We have issues with wild fires, yet you have no loggers to clean the forest? A problem with homelessness and no mills to make lumber for homes? Plenty of politicians voting themselves raises, yet they create no value?

Let's find out the truth and demand an inventory! We, the taxpayers, are paying for their jobs. Now it's time they actually do their jobs!
