Just a relief valve doing what a relief valve does. I rebuilt and cleaned this RPDA. The pressure swing seen on the small gauge demonstrates a common fluctuation in line pressure which causes the relief valve of a reduced pressure assembly to discharge.

Busted knuckles and broken plastic! That is what this 3-D printed seat removal tool has left me with. I’ve had a lot of luck with the smaller version of this tool, but this is the first time I tried the 2 inch model and it did not do the job. Which seat removal tool do you recommend?

I spy… a cross connection. This air gap is 1/2” at best. It might work without an aerator, but that wouldn’t be right either.

This is why every backflow preventer should be tested at least once a year. You will never truly know what’s wrong with your Backflow assembly unless you test it. In North Carolina, the recent passing of Senate bill 166 changed laws that compromise the cleanliness of everyone’s drinking water.

This RDPA is unique to say the least. The number one and number two shut off valves are 6 inch, but the body is 8. The only reason I could think they would do it. This way is to achieve the flow requirements for the fire suppression system. per
